Another Bedroom Makeover

Last week I shared our eldest daughter’s bedroom makeover. Our younger daughter requested that I share her new room too. Her birthday present was a makeover of her bedroom, and as we still had the wallpaper that had been there since we bought the house 10 years ago, we let her choose some paint too. She chose to replace the pale blue striped wallpaper with pale blue paint!

It was really difficult finding suitable bedding which was not too young (fairies and princess), or too grown up, but in the end we found this bedding in George at Asda which tied together the colours she wanted.

I love this pink cushion, and she loves the touch-sensitive bedside lamp (George again).

We bought the plain curtains ready made. Due to an incident between a little brother, a permanent red marker, and the new curtains, it was necessary to embellish them – Granny came to the rescue and attached these lovely butterflies to cover up the transgression!

The furniture in her room used to be in our own bedroom, and the dressing table makes a great desk. The chair was a new purchase from Dekko.

I love this light – it was also from Dekko.

Hope you enjoyed the room tour. For more Show and Tell be sure to visit Kelli’s blog.

I am posting my Show and Tell early this week, as we have a friend coming to stay and I plan to be out and about with her tomorrow (and taking photos no doubt!)

  1. The room came out fabulous and the pictures are, as always, great! A quick question – what camera and lens did you use for the picture of the dolls showing the shallow depth-of-field? I try to teach this in our digital photography class and while I can do it with my DSLR, I’ve not had great luck with the point and shoot digital cameras.

  11. I’m sure your daughter is pleased with her “new” room. I like that fancy light. Thanks for sharing. Happy Show and Tell Friday!

  12. I love to look at makeovers! (must be a makeover theme in blogland, since I blogged about mine too!)

Love the colors your chose (very cool fixture!) … my daughter used to have similar colors in her room and I always found it cool and refreshing. But we redid her room in browns and while I love it, I miss the freshness of the blue. So now I’m thinking that if we ever tackle the master bedroom, we might just go that route ourselves.

  13. Beautiful make over!!! Thank the Lord for grandmothers!!!thank your daughter for sharing her room.
    Blessings,
