My Mum is a lovely bowl of Irish Stew….and more!

Good Morning internet friends.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny and springy Mothers Day. Today appears to be a snowy spring day!

So much to share today, and as always, I will start with a digital scrapbooking page.

The journaling is as follows

you are more perfect
than I could have hoped,
more beautiful
than I could have dreamed,
more precious
than I could have imagined……
I love you more
than I could have known

Nearly everything by GinaMarie Huff from Weeds & Wildflowers, including paper from her new gorgeous paper pack Soft & Shabby Elegance.

Mothers Day

I had a lovely Mothers Day which included tea in bed, and a lie-in (which my 3 year old insisted in “sharing” with me). Not much sleeping done, but he did allow me to hold his Superman blanket while he stroked my head and serenaded me with Old McDonald!

Here are my presents and cards

The mugs are from Bridgewater Pottery – and I can verify that tea tastes wonderful in them!

My 8 yo daughter composed a Mothers Day poem for me. Her teacher encouraged the class to compare their mother to their favourite colour, food, household item. Here is the result:

My Mum

My mum is a pretty light green
My mum is a lovely bowl of Irish Stew
My mum is a lovely hot sunny day
My mum is a beautiful dark and light green person
My mum is a lovely cosey pink coushon
I Love My Mum!

Yes – you heard it here first…..I am a lovely bowl of Irish Stew….a first for the literary world, I suspect!

Next, another peak at the St Patricks Day giveaway prize, just leave a comment on my blog on St Patricks Day to be in with a chance to win. You can subscribe to my blog my clicking the Feed option at the top of the right colum – so you won’t miss a thing!

Finally (congratulations on making it this far, and thank you) our church service was broadcast yesterday on the BBC. If you have a moment, I would love it if you could listen to a little bit of the service and let me know what you think.

Just think, to my non-local readers, you could hear our accents (!) as well as some great music and maybe something to think about too. Whether or not you often go to church, I would love to hear your thoughts.

So click to go to BBCiplayer HERE

Choose the Radio option on the bottom left

Then pick Religion & Ethics from near the bottom right of the options

Scroll down and pick Radio Ulster

Then pick Morning Service which should be the top option.

Hope you make it!!! I can’t find an easier way to get there, or find a link, so I hope that works for you.

Come back for more random ramblings later in the week, and of course the chance to win $10 gift certificate for Weeds & Wildflowers digital scrapbooking store.

Until then, take care.

  8. Hi, I know I’m leaving a comment in a post from March, and it’s now December…lol….but I’ve been browsing through your pages and really enjoy your blog. You were a comment above me in Sandier Pastures blog and I had to stop by because you’re from Ireland. (my husbands ancestors are from Ireland and we’ve researched a lot about them over the years. Westport Co. Mayo, Co. Galway, Co. Limerick ) One of our goals is to visit Ireland ‘one day’. Anyhow, love your pics, your crafts, everything. Nice blog!.
