Its Friday!

I read a great post on Misty Cato’s blog (see link on right) about the balance between creating artistic layouts that look beautiful and creating meaningful layouts that will be a record for prosperity. As I am just setting out on my adventure into digi-scrapping I am probably not doing either very well yet. Certainly I loved the great layout Misty had created of her son’s favourite things – and I plan to ‘scraplift’ the idea for my kids. Maybe a project I could do with them over the Easter Holidays.

So I would be interested in your views if you scrap – what so you think of the balance between scrapping for art and for record keeping?

Certainly the heritage family layouts I make contain some facts -but to date that is all – just a few facts. I would like add some more meaningful journalling to them – but its not because I don’t want to detract from the artistic content – it’s just I don’t feel comfortable with journalling yet!

Anyway – its all a journey, and I am only setting out!

Enough rambling about scrapping.

I was able to go to the new gym tonight. I was faithfully going through my new programme, and had nearly finished, when I got talked into joining an aerobics class that was just starting. There were only 5 of us in the class – so nowhere to hide. Well – I made it through – just, and them had a lovely relaxing, short swim. When I got home, 2 kids already in bed and DH had our meal ready – lovely.

So, no layout to show you tonight, but check back soon.

In the meantime, here is my latest purchase – Creating Beauty from that wonderful new site Weeds & Wildflowers. https://weedsandwildflowersdesign.typepad.com/

Have a good weekend, and don’t forget to sign the guest book/map.

Take care

  1. I think journaling is important, so you have who is in the pictures, and whats going on….if you can do more, like feelings thats great, but to have at least the basics, is important to me. I would like to take time to do some actuall stories too, I haven’t done to many of them, but we have lots of old family stories, that have been compiled…and to do layouts with alot of them would be so cool, I think. I think that having this info for those in the future, that may not know who, what, when, where, and/or why will help them to know more about their past. I like to know where I came from.

It looks like your going to have fun with your latest purchase! I think your layouts are really pretty!! Can’t believe you are so new at it.
