Harry Potter Wii Game Review

Sometimes being a blogging mummy has it perks, especially when you have a 7 year old son.

He now thinks I am quite “cool” because I was recently sent the Lego Harry Potter (Years 5-7) Wii game to review.

I enlisted my son to test the game thoroughly, and he dedicated himself to the task!

Being 7, and not that into Harry Potter books or films, I did wonder how much he would enjoy game, and would his lack of knowledge of the plot and characters would limit his understanding.

It didn’t seem to matter at all! He loved it, and was soon engrossed in finding all the coins on each level. There didn’t seem to be much violence, which I was relieved about! He is enjoying working out the challenges and puzzles on each level.

He particularily loved the belt which gives different abilities and powers to the various characters – so far the invisible cloak is a favourite. He also likes it because :

  • “You can collect items to create potions”
  • “You can swap characters easily”

Several other members of the family have tested the game too, and it has received a “thumbs up” all round.

My son gives it a score of 1000 out of 1000 – as they say “you can’t be bad to that!”

Do you see the wee seat my son is sitting in? This was his grandfather’s chair when he was a child, over 70 years ago, then it was his father’s, and now has accomodated all 3 of my kids over the years.. A sort of family heirloom! And perfect for playing the wii!

Disclaimer – we were provided with the Harry Potter Lego Wii game to review, but all opinions are our own!

Tomorrow is the start of December ….. will I make it through to 25 December blogging daily? Time will tell!

  1. Hi JM,

Boy, if WE had a try out place over HERE like you do over there I would looooove to be a tester. My Grandma used to receive all sorts of cool things to try in the mail.

I can see how your Son sees this as a good thing – I can’t remember the last time I ever played a game. Well, we do play scrabble on our ipad now and again, and I do do some word games, but not the sort where there are levels and worlds and all that. I’m too busy!!!

    Thanks for sharing, once again.

(frantically getting ready for my next craft sale)

    Love, Barb
