Coastal walk and a film set

With only 2 weeks left before school uniforms and new school shoes need to be ready, we are enjoying spending time at the cottage. Nothing very exciting, just relaxed normal. Weather has not been wonderful, but when it is dry we tend to end up on a coastal path or on the beach.

On Sunday morning, we headed to the coastal path from Ballintoy to Carrick-a-rede.

We discovered that the whole of Ballintoy Harbour was to be closed to the public this week due to the filming of the new series of “Game of Thrones“.  However, preparations were well under way around the harbour, creating the film set. I would LOVE to have shared it with you, but there were lots of “No Cameras allowed” signs everywhere, so with GREAT effort I resisted……but it looked amazing! It was fascinating to see the attention to detail, and how they were managing to conceal the modern structures with medieval camoflage.

So a few questions for my lovely readers –

Where is your favourite local walk?

Have you ever seen a place you know being used as a film set?

Have you ever seen “Game of Thrones”, I haven’t but I might now!

Finally, congrats to Debbie who won the Interflora Bouquet giveaway and has selected a gorgeous bunch of sunflowers to be delivered.

Thanks for stopping by, come back soon to find out what I have been creating with wool, and more….

  1. Hi JM,

Ahhh – I think some of the BEST times are the “not too exciting” ones. Truly, we all need the restful times that are not structured. I found it exciting though *wink* reading!!

There have been several films in our area but I’ve never been privy to them. It must be very fascinating to see how it’s done.

I’m looking forward to your next post – lovely photos by the way!
