A Christmas Blogging Home Tour from Northern Ireland ….on the 12th day of December

Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour in Northern Ireland.

Since discovering the wonderful world of blogging in 2007 this is my favourite post/link-up/carnival of the year.

If this is your first visit here, welcome to my world!

I love Christmas and Christmas decor and will share a wee bit of my home.

First a bit about me – online I am Janmary – mum of 3, blogger, jewellery designer and amateur photographer. I live in Northern Ireland but have discovered bloggy friends around the world. In October I visited Atlanta on a trade mission with our city council and then got to attend my first blogging conference!!!

On to the decor –

In the living room I have a bit of a gold and cream theme again this year.

In our kitchen / family room there is more of a mixture on the new and slimmer tree but red is the predominant colour.

I have our wooden austrian Christmas pyramid (aka our “Jesus Helicopter”) in our hall

Each Sunday evening in advent we light the candles and sing carols.

Also in the hall I have someΒ  mini trees and one of my nativities

And some more on the other hall table

I seem to be drawn to sparkly words

And sparkly trees

Β

I have a growing collection of nesting ornaments.

But an even bigger collection of nativities – which represent the most important aspect of Christmas – the birth of Jesus. Here is one I haven’t shared on my blog before:

It is bright, chunky and wooden, and very child-friendly!

This year I put this nativity on this wooden tree – they normally hang on the Christmas tree but get a bit lost there!

This is my teeny tiniest nativity – it all fits into a small matchbox.

Our cat, George, was curious/jealous, and lept up to pose for his photo too!

Thanks for stopping by on the tour. If you leave a comment with a blog address I promise to pay you a return visit.

If you’d like to visit again you can add my blog to a feeder HERE or subscribe by email in the column to your right. Β Some of my most popular posts can be found down below in the footer.

Hope to see you again soon. Between now and Christmas I will be continuing to share our Christmas traditions, recipes, carol services etc, so don’t be a stranger!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a happy bloggy New Year.

  1. What a lovely tour of your Christmas decor! I especially love your beautiful Nativity sets–you have the most extensive collection I’ve seen. And I love the “Jesus helicopter”!

I blog from Durham, North Carolina. We’re a family of redheads; most of our ancestors are Irish and English. So I’m particularly glad to meet you!

  6. Beautiful! We’ll be in the US for Christmas for the first time in many years. While I’m trying not to think about all of the things I want to buy (since the tickets were expensive enough!), I can’t help be excited about the after Christmas sales. Really pretty and meaningful Christmas decorations are hard to find here in Japan, so I think I can indulge just a little bit on that!

I love your gold NOEL, and the little block one. That’s my daughter’s middle name. :o)

  7. I love cats and George looks so handsome in that photo. πŸ™‚

Your “Jesus helicopter” brings back memories because we had a similar one when I was little. I was always kind of fascinated by it. Now I’m wondering what happened to it!

Thanks for joining my party and showing us around, Janmary! πŸ™‚

  8. Thanks for sharing your home “across the pond”, as they say! I live in Nebraska, but have a lot of Scotch-Irish in my ancestry, so I’m always interested in Ireland! I especially love your Nativities, those are my most precious Christmas decorations, too. A blessed Christmas to you and yours!
