Children are Delightful, a heritage layout and some not so good news

Ok – quick post – here goes:

First is my 4th layout for my ABC book, and is Jane, in the backgarden of our Bristol garden in 2003. I don’t know who loved that velvet dress more, her of me!

Secondly, a layout of my Great Aunt Sarah, including a newspaper cutting of her retirement in Philadelphia. Aunt Sarah emigrated in 1915 from Northern Ireland, and started work at American Stores Co, in the Head Office. She had a great head for figures, and worked her way up through the company, and had reached quite a senior position when she retired. She never married, and always lived with one of her younger sister’s, Deborah. The both returned to Northern Ireland upon retirement. Aunt Sarah was presented with a silver tea service and engraved silver tray, which are now in my dining room. Our eldest daughter was named Sarah, partly in memory of her.

Finally, a bit of bad news – this morning I lost a diamond from my engagement ring – it should have 5 stones, but now only 4. It was either lost in the house, the driveway, the car, the church carpark, or the church creche where I was helping this morning. We’ve had a look obviously, but no sign of it. But – these things happen, and there are more important things in life. Perhaps it will turn up, but we are not going to drive ourselves mad looking for it. I have had the ring for 17 years, and next month is our 15th wedding anniversary, and it takes more than a ring to make a marriage!

Time to go, take care
