Show & Tell Irish Pottery and Digital Scrapbooking

Welcome to this week’s Show and Tell.

As the majority of my bloggy visitors are from overseas I have chosen to share some of my favourite irish pottery. I would call them mugs but they are bit to small, yet a bit to chunky and informal to be cups….so I will let you see for yourself, and you can decide!

I love pottery by Nicolas Mosse, but these inparticular, as I bought them myself from their factory workshop in the summer of 1990, while on holidays in Southern Ireland.

I am especially fond of my pigs and cows, and have never really seen them for sale in the shops.

I also have a larger mug, 2 small bowls, and 2 sizes of small jugs. While we don’t use them everyday, we still use them regularily with friends and family.

I did not quite appreciate how much of a fan of Nicolas Moss some of my friends and I are until a trip to the cinema earlier this year !

So on to some Digital Scrapbooking News:

TWO big news items

  • I have been invited to be a guest member of Mellow Butterfly Creative Team, which I was delighted to accept.

Here is my first layout, using the beautiful A Touch of Japan, and appropriately included a small poem about butterflies.

My second layout to share is using one of the many photos I have taken for my photography course of my son, and I used Gina Marie’s new kit Full of Wonder. I don’t often “extract” photographs to give the appearance someone is “popping out” of the frame, but when I see the results, I think I should use this technique more.

  • Second BIG news item – I have had two of my digital scrapbooking layouts accepted to be published…..in a real magazine……that will be sold in real shops!!!!! Can you tell how thrilled I am? I hope so! It will be a few months before they appear, but you can rest assured that I will be blogging again about it!

Finally, in the few weeks TWO people in the real world (yes, I know a few) have decided to take the plunge into digital scrapbooking. You can view one of the layouts HERE and the other link will follow soon – I am sure they would appreciate a visit if you have a moment to spare.

Oh yes, before I go, remember about my GIVEAWAY where you can win the opportunity for me to create a digital layout for YOU, by visiting my jm digital designs blog and leaving a comment.

Until next time, take care.

When we were there, we noticed all those details.. in our appartment, everything would say ‘made in ireland’, not made in china 😉

Irish butter, irish pottery.. almost everything was actually made there. Here, in the Netherlands, we just import everything…. no fun!
