Daffodil day
Although there are no daffodils blooming in our garden yet, I could not resist the bunches that were for sale in the supermarket yesterday. Now for What I learned this week. I learned on Sunday when you ask kids to write letters to missionary kids in Africa that the boys will write about which football…
Beach Walk
This morning, before heading to our favourite resturaunt for lunch (1608 in Bushmills) we went for a walk on White Rocks Strand. We are now home from the cottage, and mostly unpacked. I have made it to Day 46 of Project 365. I am now caught up with my weekly summaries – here are my…
The BIG reveal – THE kitchen makeover
Finally it is here – my NEW KITCHEN I first blogged about our plan to redo our kitchen in January, but in reality I have been planning this since we bought this house 10 years ago. So, without further ado….. (WARNING – IMAGE HEAVY) Now for some more of the details. I had not initially…
Beach Feet – I Heart Faces/Feet!
This week the theme for I Heart Faces is FEET. As soon as I saw this, I knew exactly the photo I wanted to use – one I took last week. It is one of those reminders that it is pointless telling a 4 year old to stay out of the waves at the beach,…
A night out at "Mums Night In"
Today I want to share some craft items I made on Tuesday evening at our “Mums Night In!” At our church toddler group we organise a few social evenings during the year for the parents. grandparents and carers who attend the group. Sometimes we go out for a meal, but one of the most popular…
On the 13th of December … the School Christmas Nativity Concert
A quick post today as lots happening, but I just want to share some photos of the School Christmas Nativity Concert. My son was Polish Boy Number 9 – perhaps not the most pivotal role in the Nativity, but he did us proud. With great enthusiasm and attention to detail he danced, sang and said…

The Cat and the Wardrobe malfunction!
This blog post will combine cats and wardrobes – not a natural combination. First some good news that I have been offered the chance to review another product from CSN stores. New Beginnings
This title sounds like the name of a digital scrapbooking kit! Alas, no, I have not started designing my own kits. Much too difficult, I prefer to use other peoples’ stuff. So how was you New Year? We had a quiet New Years Eve, apart from our neighbour who came round and was coerced into…
Day 8 – A Teddy Christmas Tree and a Birthday Girl
Today is Jane’s 8th birthday, and here are a few photos from 7am this morning. Did you spot the new slippers?! Her main present was a new bike, but the weather has been so wet and stormy today we have not had the opportunity to try it out, or get photos. Can’t believe Jane is…

I am continuing with my blog journal, and the first topic is “Where I blog”. I do most of my blogging at my laptop on my laptop shelf in our kitchen/family room. Sometimes it is a LOT more cluttered than this! George, the cat, loves to sit on the edge of the sofa while I…
Galway City, part of our Home Exchange

New lessons, old memories and feeling social
It’s Tuesday, and time to share those lessons learned : enjoy more gorgeous flowers and visits from friends, and thanks everyone, I’m feeling much better now (following the surgery) don’t be surprised if the double glazing salesman looks more than a little nervous when you come to the door after your 6 year old has…
Wedding Day Memories and an Argentinian Birthday Card!
There is quite a contrast between the styles of layouts I am posting here. The first is using the heritage/vintage style that first attracted me to digital scrapbooking. Here is my latest layout – Wedding Day Memories Actually, this is the same photograph I scrapped back in January, when I was just beginning in digital…
A quiet afternoon
This photo about sums up our day! George (the cat), by son and I all had a relaxing afternoon while my husband and daughters went swimming. Every week or so, my son needs to take an afternoon nap to “catch up”, and I probably need him to as well! Eventually, after sleeping for over 2…

Review of Bananagram – fun family game
- 1. It was promoted as a game for all ages (from 7 up)
- 2. It was Olympic 2012 special addition and I was in London and promised to bring home a souvenir
- 3. It looked fun while being educational too
- 4. Easily transported for family holidays
We have already played it with friends and family …. and it has been very popular.
The rules are easy, and it can be fun working in team with some of the younger players
The frequent request on completing a game is “just one more game please”
At Britmums I did see a number of other games from makers of Bananagrams and I would be certainly keen to try some more. This game was purchased by me, and all opinions expressed are entirely my own – promise!
What is your favourite family game?

Monday Musings
It’s been a busy week since returning from our house swap in Cotswolds, England. Looks like a hoot! I can’t remember the last time we played a game, so sad! We hope to go camping in the fall and then we will do that – my Mr. bought a Stratego game at a yard sale, he has fond childhood memories of it so guess who will be learning? Have you ever heard of it?
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
