A Mix of Lessons

Lesson 1 – Don’t keep writing and rewriting blog posts in your head – because they will never get from your head to your blog! Actually sit down and just blog!

Lesson 2 – Try not to be too disappointed when people or circumstances let you down – this has happened TWICE in the last 12 hours!

Lesson 3 – Don’t apologise for buying things that have ABSOLUTELY NO PURPOSE other than to make you smile.

It made me smile even more as I had already bought it before seeing it featured in my favourite magazine Country Living.

Lesson 4 – Don’t put off making buttons for your blog/store. I have been procrastinating for ages, then the other morning made this :

Lesson 5 – Try to to let your daughter see your nerves as she waits to sit her first ever piano exam, even if it does make you relive your own piano-learning days!

Lesson 6 – Try not to panic about being asked to lead an adult bible-study group at Church (prayers appreciated, I start this Sunday morning during Sunday School).

Lesson 7 – GET MORE ORGANISED for the St Patricks Day Blogging Carnival on this blog on 17 March! – please promise you will come along and join in, even if you don’t have any even remote connection to Ireland. (There will be prizes – which I think this year will include some Cadbury mini-eggs and cream eggs – then you can tell me if they are different from those available where you live!)

Lesson 8 – Although I love to take photos, and add them to my blog, sometimes allow yourself to create a blog post almost without photos.

For many more lessons visit Musings of a Housewife.

A few questions you may chose to ignore, or answer – it is up to you!

  1. I can completely relate to this post. I like to look around my house and see things that are just there to make me smile. Like flowers, word plaques that say, Laugh, Hope etc.
And I’m like you, it’s hard for me to put a post out there with out at least one picture but I do do it now and again.
And as far as post ideas, I have a little book that I write the ideas down in so I don’t forget and can blog about them later when I have more time.
    Have a blessed day!

  2. I usually “create” a blog post in my head before posting…but it’s mostly to help me organize my thoughts. Only occasionally do I have one of these that slips through and doesn’t get posted. And it’s often for a good reason. I still have one “festering”, but I haven’t posted because I am waiting for a complete resolution of the issue. And I totally love photos on blog posts, but I too occasionally do a picture-free post! It’s good to shake things up a bit, right?

  3. I can so relate to this post…I do create blog posts in my head and sometimes, it’s randomly written. I’ve been wanting to write about shoulder kitties but it ain’t happening soon!

I do like photographs but occasionally no photo for the blog topic exists. I learned it’s ok not to post photos…It’s really ok.

I’ll come to the St. Patrick’s blog fest!

Disappointment? I just deal. Sometimes I call and complain to my Mom. The poor woman usually has nothing to do with it, but she listens πŸ™‚

The color red in my house makes me smile. Like my red kitchen. Hubby dislikes it, but oh well. (It makes me smile:)

What makes me panic? Change. Change makes me panic. I had to buy a new car last year (because my old one died) and I panicked. I am a planner.

I love your photos! But if you have a good blog idea and no photos, I would rather you just write. Or take a silly photo and put it up there to make yourself feel better.

  11. Do you have a gazillion blog post ideas and then struggle to write a post?

    Yup:)

How do you deal with disappointment?

Oh I’m a grumpy bugger when I’ve been disappointed or let down so I really try to just not let it bother me anymore. Otherwise everyone ends up paying for it (yes I really am that grumpy).

What makes you smile, despite having no other purpose/function?

Something made me smile the other day when I was on my way to work and I only realised I was grinning like a cheshire cat when someone looked at me rather strangely. For the life of me I can’t remember what had me smiling in the first place now. Sometimes really off things make me smile:)

    What makes you panic?

Losing sight of Chloe. She’s like a ninja and can be completely invisible yet only 3 feet away from me and it scares the life out of me.

Can you live without photos on my blog???!

I love your photos but don’t feel like you have to post them just for little old me:)
