It’s tuesday

I must try to think of some more imaginative titles for my posts!

Dh away most of the week in England, so just me and the kids.

This morning after dropping the girls off at school, I met up with other school parents in a local church. We meet monthly to pray for the school staff, pupils, parents, booard of governors, Scripture Union schools workers etc.

We are very fortunate to have such a supportive school, who welcome our input, and allow us to advertise our group within the school. My understanding that in many other parts of the UK, schools are no longer able to promote Christianity above other faiths and that in some countries religion is not allowed in schools at all. We still have hymns and prayers in assemblies, we have a scripture union bible club after school, and Christmas and Easter activites are organised with no doubt about their biblical basis. For all of this we are thankful, and it is good to meet up – it encourages us and also the christian staff in the school and on the board of governors.

Getting the exterior paintwork of the house painted this week, so a bit of a struggle this afternoon, with painters, ladders, lots of open doors and windows, pots of paint – and a toddler! We all survived (just) but it was a relief to get aforementioned toddler in the bath and into his cot tonight.

So, on to the digital layout. A trip to an open farm near Ballymoney called Leslie Hill was the basis for this layout. When I came across this Farm Charm kit at Elemental Scraps I knew it would be ideal. I included the red barn in the layout, even though our barns here are not at all like that. We went with another family, so there were 5 kids in all, but I made my ‘wee man’ the main focus of the layout.

I am not sure about the 3 animals on the bottom right – I know they are ‘floating’ a bit, but haven’t managed to come up with a solution. Oh well ‘Progress, not perfection’.

So let me know what you think,

Take care

  1. i love that… “progress not perfection”… that should be my motto LOL! adorable LO ~ love the cuties behind the fence like that & your pics tell the story of your fun day 🙂 great job once again!!

  2. Love it!! I love how you managed to use so many pictures….and you have done white space, really well!! (again! LOL)

What a wonderful thing to be able to get together once a month, and pray for the school, and teachers. Your right, public school here doesn’t allow anything to do with church. I think its stupid, and a big reason why this country has some of the problems it has.

I have trouble with good titles on my blog posts too! LOL (course I can have trouble with good titles on my layouts as far as that goes!!)

  3. I think your layout is wonderful! Do we get to see your house, painted? Did it turn out nice? Looks like you had a nice time at the farm… thats always a ‘hit’ with the kids, though if you were born and raised on a farm I imagine it would just look like work, no? (lol!) You asked me about the barometer element and where I get inspiration for elements? Ummm… hmmmm I think just because I am an artist my eye lands on anything with interesting lines – or that I might not have seen somewhere in someone’s kit before… often I don’t know if someone will be able to use it, or not… but its worth a try! Thanks for your comments at my blog – I so appreciate you taking the time! I will pray that you continue to be able to promote Christianity in your school… we don’t realize what a priveledge it is.. until we hear about places in the world where people are beaten or murdered for standing up for their faith. Have you read my friend Becky’s blog lately, about the Martyrs? Her link is on the sideline in my blog. Thanks JanMary
