The BIG reveal – THE kitchen makeover

Finally it is here – my NEW KITCHEN

I first blogged about our plan to redo our kitchen in January, but in reality I have been planning this since we bought this house 10 years ago.

So, without further ado…..

(WARNING – IMAGE HEAVY)

Now for some more of the details.

I had not initially planned to have a built-in breakfast bar, but am so glad now that we do.

The bookcases at the far end, and the turquoise painted wall both really please me!

Love my sink!!I have two of these narrow pull-out drawers on either side of the range cooker, and are great for all those cooking ingredients, and of course the tomato sauce!Speaking of our cooker, I LOVE our Britannia range. It has a gas hob, and 2 electric ovens.

Originally we had a glass splashback, but after boiling a pot of potatoes one night it cracked! We had it replaced with a brushed stainless steel one instead.

Finally, we have our fridge/freezer with ice (it took the shop 3 attempts to get it right!)

To help explain just quite how thrilled I am, here is a little reminder of what it looked like before

Note the broken oven door below – I cooked our Christmas turkey with a brush shaft jammed against the door to keep it closed! We had that door repaired numerous times, but it always gave problems.A few of the wee details that make it home

My extra special lighting – also known as the airport runway look!

How I feel right now, that it is almost over (a few light fittings and storage boxes still to be sorted)……
Thanks for joining me today for my big kitchen reveal. I would love it if you could leave me a comment, especially if you have never commented here before. I endeavor to reply to all comments and visit your blogs too.

  14. I know you are excited about the new kitchen. It is very modern looking. We’ll be expecting lots of wonderful food dishes to be shared from that gorgeous stove. That looks like the same frige/freezer that I just bought. It sat here for over a week before I could use it. They’d forgot to hook the icemaker to the water tube inside the freezer at the factory and water ran down the back inside wall instead of into the ice cube tray.
Love all the little personal touches. The bar is beautiful and I know you’ll enjoy using it.
