A New Year!

How was your New Year’s Eve?

We tend to stay in on New Years Eve with the kids, and as our daughters are teens and now stay up with us, I thought this quote by Bill Vaughan was appropriate

“Youth is when you’re allowed to stay up late on New Year’s Eve.
Middle age is when you’re forced to.”

We watched the 50 top Olympic 2012 highlights on BBC – quite entertaining and moving.

From 11.50pm we watched Big Ben and the crowds in London, and there was an impressive fireworks display on the Thames.

This is the photo I shared on Instagram (taken with my iphone of the tv so excuse the quality)

By 12.20 am we were all in bed!

As my minister said on his Facebook page tonight “2012 – I remember like it was yesterday”!!!

Today we packed up from the cottage and headed home.

Before I go I will just share a few images I took on my way to Portush yesterday morning. It was so blustery I could just about stand up.

In one direction …. Dunluce Castle

And White Rocks strand in the other

Thanks for reading, comments welcome!

  1. Hi JM,

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh how I WISH we were where your cottage is – that is simply breathtaking scenery. One day ONE DAY!

I loved your recap of the year and this first post. I had “write blog posts” as a first to do on my list for the year, but I made myself clean up my creative area, and my Mr is home all this week so we have a “cut-off time” each day as well and each night we have a romantic dinner date! What a great way to bring in 2013.

I am updating all my contacts, entering all my “events” into a memo program so I won’t miss anyone this year. You’re an inspiration to me all year long.

Thank you for your posts, when I DO sit down to a ‘cuppa’ I love to come visit you here… until the day we get to do this in person.

    ♥ Barb
