23 December – twas the night before Christmas EVE!

Today was another “at home” day with the kids.

I put a few more finishing touches to the dining table, which I forgot to share with you yesterday, despite including it in the title.

My middle daughter and I tied some Christmas baubles and some digi-scrapped name tags to each napkin with some ribbon.

Today I tied some mini silver and red bells to each glass with elastic silver cord, and amazingly my husband did not think I was mad.  Maybe he is just grown immune to my decorating ideas, or I have worn him down and he realizes that resistance is futile.

The observant among you might notice the snow on the ground outside (and George, the cat, on the window sill).

I was relieved to see the Tesco man arrive with our on-line delivery of groceries, including the turkey and Brussel sprouts. However as he was returned to his lorry for another load of my food, the lorry slid back on the ice about 5 foot before his very eyes!

He had to borrow a shovel and some grit before he could slowly leave up our street, which was incredibly icey this morning – worse than most of the minor country roads he had already been on today!

Friends home from England for Christmas called in for coffee this morning but I forgot to take a photo – so you will just have to trust me on that.

In the meantime, after a certain amount of bribery, I got some “Santa hat” photos.

Tonight I am going to watch a Christmas movie with the kids and look forward to our Christmas Eve traditions.

Come back tomorrow to find out what they are.

  1. Oh your table looks gorgeous. There’s a pile of ironing on mine that I’m yet to put away, but it will wait until the morning:)

The plan was to watch Frosty the Snowman tonight but Chloe was out later (only home actually) visiting family with my mum so she’s completely exhausted and off to bed. I might not be too far behind her.

  2. I need to make some goblet charms for my glasses. This will be the first Christmas Eve family gathering in our home since we move to Memphis. We’ve been having it at Daughter’s since then. We are having heavy appetizers. I set the table today and will probably have a buffet in the dining room/craft room.
I will come back to find out more about your traditions.
Oh, and it must be wonderful to have online grocery shopping and home delivery.
